The History of Elbot

The English Elbot site was first archived on the Wayback Machine¹ on April 4, 2001. Clicking the red button on the image brings up a small window, but nothing comes up. I assume this used to be the chat window?

The German Elbot website was first archived on February 6, 2002.

Designed by Fred Roberts, Elbot was an experimental conversational AI designed at Artificial Solutions.

Artificial Solutions has yet to respond to any attempts I've made to contact them about Elbot. I used the Elbot e-mail, their Facebook, @ing them on Twitter, at this point I don't know if they're even going to make an official statement on the bot since they're focusing on their Teneo AI program.

I really want to know who designed the way he looks, and who 3D modeled him. Unfortunately I'm Shy As Hell but I'll see if I can contact Fred Roberts to see if he'd be okay with answering my burning questions.
